‘The Apprentice Experience’ – The Association of Apprentices (AoA) and ITN Business showcase the unrivalled career opportunity

18 October 2022
Launching during National Apprenticeship Week, 6th − 12th February 2023
An apprenticeship can be a gateway to a life-long career, and an opportunity for up-skilling and retraining, for both those at the start of their working life and individuals already experienced in employment.
The Association of Apprentices and ITN Business have joined together to create ‘The Apprentice Experience’, a news-style programme exploring the various ways individuals are supported in their apprenticeships, how enriching this experience will pave way for the future of apprenticeships and highlighting examples of the unrivalled experiences the route can provide.

Anchored by an ITN Business presenter from the ITN London studios, the programme will address current perceptions and demonstrate how to provide the best apprenticeship experience and the value of this enhanced experience by looking at the challenges often faced by apprentices and what role AoA plays in supporting its members.

‘The Apprentice Experience’ will combine expert interviews, news items and reporter led sponsored editorial profiles from leading organisations, premiering during National Apprenticeship Week in February 2023. The programme will be supported by an extensive marketing and communications campaign targeting AoA members and beyond.

Since May 2010 there have been over five million apprenticeship starts[1]. With this many experiences and stories to tell, we want to hear from you and your organisation. To share your story or to find out more, please contact Programming Directors Jamie Connolly at Jamie.Connolly@itn.co.uk and Tamsin Luck at Tamsin.Luck@itn.co.uk.

Emily Austin, CEO of Association of Apprentices said: “I’m thrilled to be working with ITN again, this time to really delve into what makes a great apprentice experience and showcase examples of best-in-class programmes where apprentices are supported at every stage of their journey.  This is such an important part of an apprenticeship, especially in helping apprentices to complete their programme.  We know completion drives better outcomes, not only for apprentices but for their employers and the economy too.

Nina Harrison-Bell, Head of ITN Business said: “Apprenticeships are so important to businesses and individuals, offering a more varied form of learning than more traditional routes. With this programme we want to share apprenticeship experiences, to demonstrate what a viable option this is for so many people, and the many organisations who have benefitted from employing people through these types of schemes.”
