What is the Association of Apprentices?

The Association of Apprentices (AoA) is a national, not-for-profit membership organisation that supports every apprentice. We help apprentices have a high-quality experience, fulfil their potential, and progress to successful completion. We work with employers and providers to offer their apprentices enhanced experiences through community, peer-to-peer networking, learning and support.

How the Association of Apprentices benefits training providers

Community

External Networking

At AoA, apprentices become part of our growing community. They have the opportunity to network outside of their organisation, take part in polls and discussions, and learn from experience.

Events

Inspiration & Motivation

AoA has developed enriching events and masterclasses especially for apprentices. Designed to enhance motivation and self-awareness, as well as critical thinking and development, AoA helps every apprentice become the best version of themselves.

Development

Learning & Development

Soft skills are vital in the modern workplace. With AoA Learn, apprentices are able to identify development areas to access targeted resources. AoA Learn fills a gap so Training Providers can keep apprentices on track.

Our research

The Association of Apprentices has employed multiple research methods to discover what apprentices, training providers, and employers require from us. We have spoken with apprentices, held events with employers of all sizes, and tapped into industry-experts’ knowledge from our Founding Partners and Advisory Panel (consisting of employers, training providers, and awarding bodies). Our Apprentice Council actively structures our path, to ensure we are always heading in the right direction.

Giving apprentices the best start in their career benefits the individual, the organisation, and the training provider. Find out more about how AoA helps training providers provide comprehensive support to their learners.

Membership prices for
training providers

As a social enterprise, we are committed to ensuring that all apprentices have the opportunity to access their Association. For this reason, membership for individual apprentices is currently free. In addition to this offer, organisations with 249 or fewer employees can check if they are eligible for free membership below.

Why should my organisation pay for our apprentices to join the Association?

Although membership for individual apprentices is currently free, this offer is limited and AoA will be introducing membership fees in the future. Organisations can ensure their apprentices continue to access our services by purchasing corporate membership in advance – and will receive additional corporate benefits too.

Benefits of corporate membership

Training providers can purchase membership for all their apprentices. Corporate membership for training providers can cover both apprentices trained for clients, as well as apprentice employees. Benefits include:

Access to data and insights from AoA
Access to AoA Learn
Added value to their apprenticeship offer
Company logo on AoA website as a patron member
Support apprentices in the UK working in SMEs to benefit from the Association
